Here at Arlo we strive to create a sense of awe that leaves those we touch wanting more.SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:The General Manager is responsible for effectively leading the day-to-day operations of the hotel and its team members. This position focuses on preparing budgets, strategizing, planning, organizing, and directing all hotel services, including all front-of-house and back-of-house operations, while embodying the culture of Arlo Hotels.RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES:

  • Communicates effectively to staff using development reviews, training, departmental orientation, and monthly meetings.

  • Creates preventive maintenance programs for consistency of the product.

  • Builds strong partnerships with internal customers and outside vendors.SPECIFIC DUTIES:
    • Possesses excellent communication and leadership skills; is a creative problem solver with team members and third-party partners.
    • Embodies the values of Arlo and is culture-driven in performance.
    • Monitors hotel performance through guest satisfaction systems and financial reports.
    • Proactively initiates actions to stay aligned with budgets and goals.
    • Works directly with the Corporate Director of Operations and Asset Manager on forecasting and budgets.
    • Is a proactive, self-starter who works well independently and in a team.
    • Comfortable being a change agent and creating a welcoming environment.
    • Confident, able to think clearly under pressure.
    • Loves negotiating and creating win-win situations for customers, owners, partners, and the team.
    • Oversees and directs daily hotel operations.
    • Coordinates daily with Food & Beverage and Events Directors to ensure seamless service.
    • Implements and maintains a service and management philosophy as a standard for departments.
    • Designs and implements training to exceed service and operational standards.
    • Develops strategies with the Asset Manager to maximize revenue and manage costs.
    • Develops and directs departmental managers and supervisors to ensure guest and employee satisfaction efficiently.
    • Leads safety initiatives and security provisions.
    • Assists in protecting hotel assets through maintenance, security, housekeeping, and capital budgeting.REQUIREMENTS:
      • 5-8 years of experience as an Assistant General Manager or Director of Operations in lifestyle, full-service hotels; New York experience is a plus.
      • Extensive experience in hotel operational departments including Front Office, Guest Services, Housekeeping, Security/Loss Prevention, Engineering, and Food & Beverage.
      • Experience managing in-house Food & Beverage departments.
      • Proven success in designing and implementing service standards that improve guest and employee satisfaction.
      • Experience managing third-party or leased space arrangements.
      • Strong financial skills to drive revenue and control expenses.
      • Excellent professional communication skills with guests and staff.Salary Range: $200,000 - $225,000 per annum
